Tap Shoes

This shot was taken by our daughter Lucy, and it is one of the hardest shots she has ever taken - it's an amazing challenge to get tiny feet to stay still when they are wearing their first pair of tap shoes!

The story started when a friend of Lucy who runs a dancing school in York decided it was time for Natalya (Lucy's daughter) to have her first pair of tap shoes. Last week a parcel arrived at Lucy's home in London addressed to Natalya. There was an exciting scramble to unwrap it, and an immediate request to try on the new glittery gold tap shoes, followed by a big beaming smile when Natalya discovered the sounds she could make with them.

Lucy, in contrast, has a rather subdued black pair of tap shoes, but she is trying to compensate with the bright stripy socks!

Natalya is really thrilled by her tap shoes, but she has to be a bit restrained in their use, since daddy is currently working from home teaching online.
