Defence

On a dull, wet day, the clouds dispersed and the sun emerged to light up Martello 66, a tower originally built as a defence in the early 1800's against the Napoleonic invasion which never happened. In the 20th century a gun emplacement was added with the new threat of WWII. This is the best surviving example of all the 74 towers along the south coast of England.
Looks so solid against that lovely Blue sky.
