This is a morning glory flower, at the end of the day. As you probably know these flowers each last just one day, opening in the morning, and then curling up and dying, overnight. This particular variety, to my mind, is at its loveliest as it begins it's decline at the end of day since this is when it reveals the lovely striped pattern on the underside of it's petals; one last moment of beauty before it is gone forever.
