My huge old rose shrub ( rosa egalantine for those who care) is wild and shaggy, and a bit of a mess. But it has pretty flowers in the spring, rose hips that are rosy pink through the summer and bright red in the winter, and it attracts many birds to my yard. Add to that, when it rains it gives off the scent of green apples. Despite its rangy, unkempt style, I think I'll keep it.
