Beautiful Fungus

I found this over at the pond the other day, growing on a tree stump. I think it must have been there for a while because it was growing all around the stump and turned the whole stump into a rather beautiful frilled thing.
(If anyone knows what kind of fungus this is I'd love to know).

I think it is some sort bracket fungus, but don’t know the exact species. Interesting article if you google ( other search engines are available ) Polypore on wiki.

We always called this "Turkey Tails" because of the pattern and its similarity to a turkey's tail. But I don't know if that's what it's really called. I definitely do not know the Latin name! Excellent shot.
