Mr. ( or Mrs.?) red fox was back yesterday and this time hung around long enough for me to get a couple of shots. I've done quite a bit of processing on this because the light was coming from behind which didn't help with clarity in the original photo.
Lovely catch. Your foxes are quite different to ours - very lanky and fine boned. Ours are sturdier and more rounded. Our climate gets quite cold - I was wondering if your foxes lived in a hotter area.
@robz I'm not sure what the climate is like where you live (Queensland?) I'm in Canada, but in the Toronto area which is not the coldest area in Canada, still we usually get a fair amount of below freezing weather in the winter. I think this fox may look leaner than usual, since it is the end of our winter here and maybe they do less hunting in the winter months? Still most of the red foxes I've ever seen do seem to be more on the slender side with longer legs in relation to their body.
@gardencat Lol - you are in a much colder area that us - so I guess the climate is not the difference. I can't even guess what the difference might be... Interesting isn't it? Thanks so much for your reply.
