She has showed up in my yard on a couple of afternoons recently. I think she is one of the victims of the new 'no wildlife feeding' bylaws. Pretty sure she is a mother to be who is having hard time getting the calories she needs.
@olivetreeann@lstasel i am being careful but the same thing happened last year. We had a raccoon that started coming around in the afternoon and I worried that it was sick but then I noticed that she appeared to have signs she was nursing and i read that raccoons who have kits are more likely to come out at any time because of their increased need for food. Sure enough, a few weeks later I saw her with some little ones in tow and shortly after that they all dis appeared again.
