Love is in the air
in the whisper of the trees
Love is in the air
in the thunder of the sea
and I don't know if
I'm just dreaming
don't know if I feel safe
but it's something that
I must believe in
and it's there when
you call out my name.
...John Paul Young (Dec. 1977)
The ladybugs have been amorous lately. The females are usually larger than the males. Each species of ladybugs has its own pheromones for attracting a mate. When they find each other, the male grips the female from behind and holds on tight. They can stay together for more than 2 hours at a time. Female ladybugs can store a male's sperm for 2-3 months before laying eggs. Lady bugs will lay their eggs where food is abundant. Fascinating! Nice on Black.
@yogiw They were on the tree trunks in my front yard. Ladybugs swarming everywhere...on the house, trees and landing on me! Earlier, I saw a lot in my backyard too. When I find them in my house, I rescue and place them on a leaf outside. I didn’t see any all summer but Fall abundance!
