Taken from about 100 yards away with a 600m zoom, this Blue Heron pic is unique for me. When I cropped up close, I noticed that it had indeed caught a small fish. As all fish predators do, it is arranging the fish to be swallowed head first. This prevents the spines from becoming lodged in its throat.
