This trunk came from my late mother’s house. She kept it in her bedroom and stored her “important things” in it. She always told me that was where I would find her paperwork when she died.
Mum died in July and I now have the trunk in my house. It is quite large and heavy and I’m still deciding where to put it. My husband has restored it a little as it was in a sorry state.
I know that this trunk came to my Mum through my grandparents. I can remember it being in my grandparents’ bedroom when I was a child. I can’t remember whether it came from her mother’s family or her father’s family. Too late to ask her now.
What a beautiful piece of furniture with such special memories... But yes I would imagine they're need to be a little rearranging to create its new home.
