art of the sea by graemestevens

art of the sea

Where ever I go, there is always the sea and I make a point of saying hello.

"The harbour is an ironing board
Flat iron tugs dash smoothing toward
Any shirt of a ship, any pillowslip
Of a freighter they decree
Must be ironed flat as washing from the sea"

Posting a photo can only mean that I'm back - as always I doubt very much that I'll make any serious attempt to catch up, but hey, how you doin'?
Love this!

These are very serious thoughts - you have matched the image to them so wonderfully well.

I get antsy if I stay long away from the coast.

@byrdlip Marvelous , thanks for asking ;)
@humphreyhippo It's definitely real - there's a few more scattered around the water front area.
@shannejw I can't take credit for that unfortunately.
@bella_ss And the "P" from pillowslip, but I guess is vandalism is the risk of art in public spaces, which is disappointing in itself.
@yaorenliu I did sneak in under the radar ;)
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I'm largely made up of blank spaces...
@joansmor You and me both...
@robz It's a bit deep...
@jamibann You poor thing, I'm so sorry ;)

Great inscription/sculpture, makes one think a little - or a lot as one feels at the moment. Love the seascape too.

I love your title on this - because it almost looks to me as if the sea is trying to imitate the art. Fascinating image.
