A recently completed (December 2011) waterfront project designed to bring life back to the downtown area of Beirut. The promenade starts directly across this scene and curves its way around the beautiful aqua colored water. There are mooring spaces for yachts as big as houses and boats as small as I could afford. Restaurants and shops line the lower promenade. It was a beautiful, peaceful walk around the bay.
@cdonohoue Thanks, Cathy! I think that is one of the reasons I took the shot! I wanted to show a busy modern city to my family and friends. I have been to New York and never seen this beautiful color of water though! ;~}
@maggotx I'm actually home again! I went to see the country and visit @ruthmouch. I was supposed to have a connecting flight in NJ but it got cancelled so no chance to meet you but the thought crossed my mind!
Beautiful reflections and, Don is so correct about that foreground... it really anchors the shot, but I'm sure I would not have noticed that if he had't mentioned it! I also love the contrast to old Beirut, which is what most of us see.
