Going through some stored belongings. I ran across this pair of glasses and scarf that belonged to my grandmother's mother. My mother gave them to me years ago and I forgot about them. Included in this storage was some letters my grandmother had written to her mother before she passed away in 1955. As you can see the prescription was made in 1939 and remarkably I can see out of them although they are way too small for my head!
Wow! Love it! I've been going through some of my dad's paperwork and found the deed to the property before his house was even built...way back in 1904!
@olivetreeann thanks Ann those letters are such a wonderful peek into a past that I knew very little about. A shame with the electronic age that this experience will not be available to future generations
How wonderful to have these items that were your great grandmother’s. And the letters from your grandma to her. It truly does feel like a peek into the past to read letters like that.
