Fan Time

These bees have built a nest in this birdhouse. In the afternoon when the sun hits it the temperature rises inside and they come outside by the door and fan the opening with their wings to cool it off!
Fabulous capture! I would need a telephoto lens that let me stand across the street to get this kind of close-up!

Great shot! I've seen several bee hives lately which are all the plain white hives, I love the decoration on this one. Maybe they did too and that's why they moved in.

@hankinsphoto This is actually a birdhouse my grandchildren gave me one year. I don't think a bird has ever lived in it but the bees love it! Thanks, Steve.
