More play with tulips. And with light. I had a large sheet of plastic left from the mattress delivery so I set this over a table to make a tent; then two desk lamps, one on each side shining through the plastic. There was also some natural light in front. Then the tulips and I crawled under the table....I'll have to try it again without the natural light to see the full effect. (my husband now thinks I am totally certifiable!)
i love the haphazard - looking composition, it is very effective.. triangles are quite powerful..
the only issue, i would have, is with the dark line running top to bottom, right of frame.. it draws the eye away from the lovely blooms..
i love your description of how you took the shot.. i have a vivid image of you crawling under the table, hilarious..
it's not only you who is learning from your project with the tulips, i am taking note of things to watch for, to incorporate in my work.. you are providing lovely images and tutorials too, thank you :-)
This is a really interesting composition.. It would never occur to me cut off the flower like this.. but you have made it work very well. I'll have to try it! BTW you are uploading a photo a day so of course you are certifiable! :-)
@jorlam I am flattered that you enjoy these shots and that you can learn something from these...Thank you, that is high praise indeed.
I debated about the shadow line...whether it added graphic interest and dimension or whether it distracted. Your comment helps clarify the issue. As always, thank you for your thoughtfulness.
@yrhenwr Ah, thank you David...I am honored to think I could think I could inspire you
And you right about the daily photo.and more; I seem to be communicating more with 365ers and the actual flesh & blood people I know! This is a great community; I am hooked.
Very interesting way of composing the shot with lots of negative space and two flowers cut off. I like that. .... However - I do find that shadow line behind them distracting. But that is me - and maybe others like it.
@farmreporter Thanks, Wendy, as always and especially for your candor...I had thought the lline might give added value, but think you are right, it is more distracting than anything. I really appreciate your view!
