The High Street in the village is all dug up!
As everyone knows new houses cause road works! This is a new electric pipe line but we’ve already had gas & water.
Not just here but all down the main A road too & from 18th to the 24th that road is fully closed too….overnight we believe!
Seeing as it’s the big Tractor Pulling weekend then let’s hope they have finished.
Good photo showing the disruption to your local road system, Pat. Do hope it doesn't interfere too seriously with routes to the Tractor Pull. How far is it from your home to the site?
A good pov to show us the disruption and as you know - each service do their own digging and repairing the road before the next one comes along repeating the disruption !
Ugh, every school holiday around here they dig up the roads but in such an unco-ordinated fashion that you can find (as I did today) that there are no routes east..... Wouldn't be that hard for someone in an office to get a map out and decide yes or no on the basis of ensuring a viable alternative, would it?? And they are digging this up just in time to potentially disrupt the tractor pulling? Speechless.......
@casablanca Well I did stop & talk to one if them…..he knew nothing about the tractors! Will be interesting as hundreds of cars are parked along the main road either side. The tractor guys will take no notice…..tractors & beer are the things on their minds!
@happypat I didn't know you have a B&B, Pat. Will your guests have trouble finding (or even getting into) places to park? I presume once parked somewhere they will do that three minute walk from your place...
@bjywamer Hi Barb, I’ve done B&B for over 25 years but since we moved from the farm three years ago we only take in people we know well & they & us are happy to be in open plan for breakfast, about four guest couples or singles! Usually ones with relatives so they are only in for their bed ‘ breakfast. The tractor puller couple gave been coming for years & only want a bed, leave their car & walk.
A lot of them pitch tents on the show field.
@happypat That's so interesting, Pat! Thanks for the reply! If I ever come your way I want to stay with you!! If you think by then that you know me well enough... LOL
