Great shot to include another photographer! Such a barren terrain this time of year. Hope you enjoyed a coffee up at the cafe - the views are wicked don't you think?
Nice shot. I tried to see Mt Ruapehu in 1971 - first the tour guide didn't turn up - and then the clouds came in - which is probably why the tour guide didn't turn up!
@christinav hubby was doing the crater walk and this was the best time of year to do that, thought I would enjoy the gondola ride up to the start with them and enjoyed shooting on the way down on my own - views were awesome :-)
@jeneurell always a risk with a mountain, hubby and friends have learnt this - having to walk the Tongariro Crossing 3 times to finally actually see it - this time they arranged to stay a full week to allow for the best weather!
