Does anyone know what this is? It was growing by the road side. Very unlike anything I've ever seen growing here. It was a cluster of 4 or 5 flowers. And yes, it was that RED! Very hard to miss it :-)
It looks as if it could be an Armenian Tulip. But it’s sure growing way out of its usual habitat - Wikipedia has it growing mainly in hot countries: “The Armenian tulip is used as a garden plant. It needs dry, hot summers and should be grown in free draining soil and full sun.”
Interesting find! Beautiful flower.
