This family portrait hangs on the wall in the house of my mother in law.
I always liked the way those parents looked at their children.
The style of clothing is from around 1825-1930. The varnish is a bit cracked so I have tried to restore it a bit.
@overalvandaan Het feit dat ze met z’n vieren in dit schilderij staan is al bijzonder. Ik denk ook altijd dat de hoed van de vader is. Leuk dat jij dit ook mooi vindt.
@kwind@shutterbug49@ludwigsdiana@casablanca Thank you all for your kind comments, we are so used to taking photo’s that it’s hard for us to understand how long they must have waited for this portrait. As it is an oilpainting it would have needed multiple layers of paint which took weeks to dry. I really like the clothes and the affection of that family in the painting.
