Today we walked part of a trail near Amersfoort. Through fields, bushes and along little streams. It was very wet and muddy. We call this a clog path (klompenpad) A clog path route goes as much as possible over church paths, towpaths, tithing roads or peat quays that have often been present in the landscape for centuries. They have often lost their original function and are in danger of disappearing. In the provinces of Utrecht and Gelderland, a number of these paths have been set up for recreational use by landscape managers in collaboration with municipalities and landowners.
