We listened to this pipe band in the village of Braemar on Sunday. They wear the old red McPherson tartan. I chose to focus on the kilt and sporran of this drummer (hence sporran to the side). Useless fact of the day : a kilt can contain up to 8 metres of fabric.
Brilliant capture, Issi. Love the pov and the shallow dof. I've never been to Braemer, but really fancy giving it a visit one day. Looks an amazing place, steeped in history.
Great pov and focus on the pleats of the kilt. Have you posted the Forbes tartan previously in your project? My Forbes lived at Drumgask in Aboyne. Am I correct in assuming that was the name of their cottage?
@genealogygenie I haven't Kim, but my husband does have the kilt and my son has a pair of trews in the clan Forbes tartan. My husband's kilt is packed now for our move from Houston to Paris, but once unpacked and organised, I'll try and get a pic of it to post for you! Drumgask is, I believe, an area of land near Aboyne rather than a cottage, as far as I know. If I find out any more about it I'll let you know!
