Spotted this little bloom as I was putting my bike away into the garage yesterday morning - I'd never noticed it before. I'm enjoying re-discovering the plants that our garden is going to offer over the next period of time.
@lyndemc That made me laugh ... I bet you can be trouble, with that lovely face! ;-) With respect to your question, which I take as being 'interested' not 'nosy' ... yes, we have lived in this house before. We bought the house 10 years ago, when we last lived in Paris, moved in for FOUR months, and then were asked to move to Burma (Myanmar), which we did. We rented the house out, and now we're back, 10 years later, after a spell in Burma (Yangon), South West of France (Pau), and Houston. Following nine years of rental, the garden (despite having a gardening contract during that time) was overrun by ivy. All my beautiful plants had been consumed by the beast! We spent hours working and have now recovered the garden (and the house ...). My lilac bushes have been uncovered, my climbing roses unearthed, my wisteria trimmed back to a shadow of its former self and the offending ivy has been decimated - although I see it's already trying to make a come back. I'm on it though! So, suffice to say each new flower is a revelation, and some plants will have survived the trimming back and others may not. Others I had just plain forgotten about, like the Japonica, discreetly flowering by the garage. You did ask ... :-)
