Oor Hielan' Hame

This is our 'forever' home in Scotland; built in 1876. We've been here less than 24 hours and hubby is already on the river. It's a lovely day and the sun is shining. What more could you want?! Just a little more, ... he wants rain!
Very nice - like the b&w. Looks like a great house

@busylady It's currently a holiday home Judith, which we bought four years ago. However, it's in the area where I grew up, and it's where we plan to retire in a few years time. Some work being planned currently, to extend the back of the house to give us a bigger kitchen and an extra bedroom.

What a lovely spot you know you can retreat to - the setting is so ideal - and a river nearby - what else could you want? Love it in b&w.

What an idyllic holiday house and place to look forward to living in during retirement. Nice to have the time to plan ahead and do the remodeling prior to moving more permanently. I like this in b&w.

What a pretty house Issi, looks like an amazing location too. Enjoy your holiday.

Oh, Issi, I know the warm feelings you have when you're "home" there! As I sit in our "retirement" home, I know it's where we were meant to be, though we'd only seldom visited Canada before discovering this spot! We're thrilled that the kids want us to keep this in the family, so maybe we see ourselves as "1st generation" here in Nova Scotia! (One daughter got married on our back deck, so that's a start!)
