Yesterday I went into Paris to see 2 photography exhibitions at the Musée de la Photographie. I saw the work of Jaques Henri Lartigue and Alice Springs (June Newton) - both excellent. Afterwards, as it was such a beautiful day, I walked about 14km - from the 4th Arondissement, through the Place des Vosges, past the Hotel de Ville, the Tour St. Jacques, and the Louvre, through the Jardin des Tuileries, past the Place de la Concorde, up the Champs Elysées, past the Arc de Triomphe, down the Avenue de la Grande Armée, through Porte Maillot and Neuilly sur Seine and finally on to the La Défense business district, where I caught the RER back home. It was wonderful and I took quite a few photos, as you might imagine.
This photo was taken from the Rue du Louvre, looking towards the museum entrance through the Cour Carrée.
Issi, what a lovely day you had! Thanks for taking us along on that picturesque stroll through Paris with your commentary. Wonderful lines in this stately building.
