Hydrangea by jamibann

Hydrangea

Whilst I've been away in Scotland, the hydrangea have been excelling themselves in my garden in Paris. The blooms are massive and so healthy looking - so much better than the peonies this year, which were small and quite insignificant. I liked this in black and white as it brings out the detail of the individual petals within the bloom.
That is a huge bloom - they must be quite a sight!

I very much like this in b&w - it makes me pay attention to the structure more

Kinda cool how one can switch from viewing it as a mass of flowers then see an individual one. Excellent detail.

A beautiful composition!! And how lucky to have such stunning flowers -- my poor little plants may, at best, produce a flower or two.

Really like the textures and shadows! Now that I have reclaimed some garden area I must get one!

This is gorgeous, even in B&W! I wish my hydrangea looked this impressive. I planted one for the sake of 365 pictures, so it's not that old of a bush, but unfortunately the spot I picked now has more shade than the flowering plant would like. I may have to move it again, which will likely make it unhappy for a few more years...
