Posting early for tomorrow as I'm off on my travels again. Dad's having his hip replaced on Wednesday, so I'm going over to lend a hand. Fingers crossed all goes as planned.

Best wishes for an easy recovery for your dad and that he's back to normal and pain free in no time. We had one of these bushes in the house we just sold - so healthy and a favorite sight when we returned to Chicago in late August to still see it blooming. I like your choice of DoF in this image.
I think you might be in for a rough couple of days or so, he will be, but without the pain. I really wish him and you the very best of health. Be strong for him.
My husband has had both hips done with fabulous results. Hope everything goes as planned and recovery is fast. Looks like that bud is holding a big flower. Great DOF
