Mr Blackbird by jamibann

Mr Blackbird

One of my morning 'chores' whilst staying at dad's house is to feed the blackbirds, whilst ensuring that the pigeons don't eat all the food! Not an easy task! Mr Blackbird and his friends managed to get plenty this wet, dreich Scottish Summer's morning, though.
great capture of Mr Blackbird...

We have two Blackbirds that visit our garden last thing at night, they are always on time and make a loud din, but it is a joy to see them

I like the pose on the rock with the leaves and fence in the background. A nice portrait.

Wonderful capture of Mr. Blackbird! I'm sure your father is happy that you're feeding the birds for him every morning! I looked up "dreich" ... a new word for me. :-)

@gaylewood it's a great word! I'm very impressed that you looked it up. It's so perfect on a dull, drizzly day.

@peterday These guys come to visit in the morning, but only because dad feeds them. Raisins, fat and oatmeal. They're not at all shy. They don't even move off when the dog comes out.

@jamibann Just found out our blackbirds are nesting in the hedge of our back garden. Interesting times ahead, but must keep clear or they will fly away.

Such a gorgeous composition - love how the bird sits proud on the sweep of the wall

Beautiful capture and composition. Love how the curve of the rock contrasts with the vertical pickets, yet complements the curve of the bird's breast. Very nice!
