We did laugh at these two items. John and I cycled up to Braemar yesterday to have lunch with dad.
Whilst there, John talked about wanting a good rucksack for carrying his wading boots into the hills to fish in some of the local hill lochs. Dad used to be leader of the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team, and has rucksacks aplenty, so he immediately offered John one. We laughed when we found some of the contents - untouched for about 20 years, including this old map of the area and a tin of very, very, old airstrip plasters which cost 20p back in the day - bought in a chemist shop which no longer exists! I thought a photo was worth the while!
My dad never throws anything out. He'd be absolutely horrified to see what we've had to throw/give/sell since we've moved back - not to mention all the stuff that had to be disposed of before we came back!
@tunia Indeed! We also found a first aid pack and two sets of gaters in this one! And his old police whistle later on ... wish we'd found it earlier - I'd have photographed it with the two items in this photo!
