Tarrytown Dogwood

At last I have found a dogwood tree. Having seen this flower appear numerous times on 365, I have never actually seen the beautiful flower in person. So here it is! It is lovely and is in bloom all over the place at the moment.

Glad you finally got to see one. I believe this is a Kousa Dogwood. The petals are more pointed than the ones found in the wild around here. I have two dogwood trees and their petals are more rounded.

How interesting that this late in the season you're finding dogwoods. (And how beautiful it is.) I have family in North Carolina who sent me photos of their dogwoods back in late April. "Spring" springs later in those northerly states, to your advantage!
