Well, we made it! 97.5 km on our bikes, through the night, in Edinburgh. We set out last night at 9 pm and were tucked up in bed by 4 am, having finished the ride at 3.05 am. It was a great event which was however very nearly ruined by the weather. Prior to setting out there were very, very heavy rain showers, and thunder storms! We all hung around in the tent, being entertained by a female Scottish piper, and watching the participants gather. These Yorkshire ladies were very eye catching in their outfits, but their bicycle helmets were particularly fetching - all very skilfully hand crocheted! We were very lucky that the most of the rain had finished before we set out, and we only had light rain for the first hour or so. We did have to be very careful though as wet roads are not a cyclist's friend - especially in the dark and on cobbled streets!
