Just back from London on Sunday night, we headed into the Scottish hills on Monday for a two day trek. Quite the contrast! We're now both absolutely shattered. Anyway, this was taken on our way down from Loch Kander where we fished a bit and I picked blueberries. We ate the fish for tea and put the blueberries in our porridge this morning. Quite a treat! We pitched our tent on the flat piece of land near the one tree you can see. Truly in the middle of nowhere and the show of stars at 1.30 am was truly magnificent. Less magnificent were the clouds of Scottish midges at dusk and dawn. Thankfully we had the head-nets. Not very glamorous, but an absolute necessity in summer!
And fab to eat in hunter gatherer style. Hope you have a restful few days now.
