This is the last image I'm going to post from Saturday's walk. I came over a slight rise to spot this fellow nestled in the snow. He looked at me and I looked at him. He stayed put and I carefully dislodged my camera from the clip on my rucksack, removed the lens cap, switched it on, made frantic signs at hubby not to move or say a word, and somehow managed to get a few decent shots of this beautiful bird in its Spring colours. Thank you Mr Ptarmigan!
Super capture, and a very obliging bird. I had a conversation with a very close female blackbird yesterday. She was collecting worms in the patch I had just been weeding. She stayed quite a while but I didn't have a camera nearby.
