We spent yesterday morning at Scarista beach on Harris watching the 'kids' surf (our son and GF, Bella). They seemed to love it, but I wasn't at all envious, it looked jolly cold to me. Beautiful sandy beaches and glorious sea though.
What a lovely photo of these happy young people! And Scarista is so beautiful. There used to be a fabulous restaurant in a house there - only 8 people max dining at a time.....but a long time since we were there!
Just had a look and it seems it is still open!
@sarah19 Well, I don't know about that particular restaurant, Sarah, but we had fab coffee & cakes at 'Temple', a small cafe at Scarista. And last night we ate out in a restaurant in Tarbert called 'Flavour'. An 8-course tasting menu where we were sat in the kitchen, watching it all go on. It was fabulous! Some great eating places in Harris!
They are such a good looking couple! Surfing in cold or warm water is not in my future- I have very little balance on land so standing on a board in the water while riding a wave is out of the question!
