Each step of the spongy, spruce-scented path led us deeper and deeper into the woods until our jaws just dropped. There, the four of us stood motionless, silently transfixed by the unimaginable scene before us. From a carpet of emeralds rose hundreds, thousands, of dazzling white columns, shaming the finest Greek temples. The light, the glow, the white, like snow! In a paper birch forest in the wilds of Fairbanks, Alaska, we met Peace; and not one of us wanted to leave Him.
