We’re quite sure Marley invented sweetness! Our little 8-year-old Havana Silk Dog brings joy to us and so many others through his work as a TDI Certified Therapy Dog.
The sheer delight in my Mom's eyes when she talked about her visits from the therapy dogs during her final weeks in a nursing home left me hoping to do therapy dog work one day. God later blessed us with Marley, whose sweet disposition, gentle temperament, and intuitive nature made therapy dog training easy; and Marley passed his test in May 2013. Hats off to Marley and therapy dogs everywhere for all the good they bring to this world!
I caught this photo of sweet Marley over the weekend while he roamed the front yard in the sunshine. I called, “Marley, sit." He sat, I snapped, and then he was off to explore some more!
I like viewing this image best on the black background.
He exudes personality! A wonderful portrait and description. I'm going to tag my sister as her dogs are also therapy dogs: @mbemis
My other sister also has a therapy dog, and she's visited with veterans before. I just noticed that your profile says you are a "grace chaser," and I love that. Charlie and I have been impressed with Philip Yancey's book "What's So Amazing About Grace;" so much so that I suggested the topic of grace to a woman at my church, and now the women of the church are embarking on a two-year study about grace.
@cejaanderson Thank you, Jane! Therapy dogs bring such joy to life! Marley and I have been working with cancer patients for the past two years, and I consider it grace to have this wonderful, loving dog share my days. Thank you for mentioning the book. I'll definitely check it out! I am surely a grace chaser...looking for God's grace in every moment. The women at your church must be so grateful to you for directing them to grace. I hope they reap many rewards from their study!
@cejaanderson Just following up, Jane...I ordered the book you mentioned in your comment, and I'm so happy you led me to it...thank you again! It should arrive in a few days. I'm going to take it on our upcoming beach vacation, and I'm really looking forward to reading it. Also, thank you for sharing Marley's photo with your sister. I enjoyed looking at her beautiful photos and am now following her project. All is grace. :-)
This is a charming portrait. Marley posed beautifully. Thanks for following me, but you may find it disappointing, as I am not posting much these days. I'm more of a 365 prowler these days.
@mbemis Thank you, Mannie, for your kind comment and for following me! It's just fine if you prowl more than post. Your images that I looked at were beautiful, and I'll look forward to seeing more whenever you do post some! :-)
