The open window’s welcoming fresh, chilly, October air into the sleepy kitchen; and a chipmunk’s chipping loud somewhere down in the woods. I hear the water in the teapot start to simmer, and I run for the camera to capture what I can of this peaceful start to Wednesday.
My original intent was to include the swaying blue flames beneath the pot, but somehow I liked this cropped version with just a lick of flame hinting at soon-to-be hot tea. Hands cupped around a steaming mug and an open window looking out on busy birdfeeders make a lovely morning!
I like viewing this image best on the black background.
My mother would have loved your beautiful teapot - what a lovely way to start your day with a cup of tea made in this charming teapot. Like the lick of flame, too. Your Thoreau quote on the bluebird was lovely - hadn't read that one before.
@milaniet Thank you so much, and I'm glad you enjoyed the Thoreau quote. Your Mom sounds like a tea lover like me. The pretty teapot that my husband gave me as a gift a few years ago makes tea all the more enjoyable!
