I’m thankful for the gift of my amazing husband. His selflessness, compassion, and kindness inspire me. His love lifts me up! This weekend, he’s all about the lights as we decorate our home for the coming of the Light. Crazy grace brought us together at the ages of 16 and 18; and 37 years later, we’re still crazy about each other. It’s a blessing to enter into another Christmas season with the love of my life by my side!
I’m dedicating November to giving thanks! For years, I’ve kept a gratitude journal in which I jot down things that I’m thankful for. During this month when we’ll celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I’m going to take my gratitude for God’s good gifts one step further by photographing a particularly meaningful gift each day for my 365 project! I've always viewed the subjects of my images as gifts, but I'm looking forward to this month of intentionally labeling them as such. This will enable me to spend a bit more time dwelling on God's goodness and offering the thanks that He deserves. If anyone would like to join me in this celebration of grace, please do! I’ll be tagging my images: all-is-grace.
@linnypinny Thank you, Lin! He's a wonderful man, and not a day goes by that I'm not thankful that God brought us together all those years ago. I appreciate your comment and your fav very much. Thanks again!
This is a beautiful image! We decorated our tree today too, and I took photos, but none I want to post, but I'm really weak on still life. This one is so nice! Charlie and I met at age 12, started dating at age 15, and were married at 18, 41 years ago. Experts would say that is not a formula for success, but it worked for us!
@cejaanderson Thank you for commenting and for the fav! I love decorating for Christmas. Wow, I thought my husband and I met young; and you two met even younger. I'm glad things worked out well for both of us!
What sweet words about your husband - your choice of photos to use today is such a soft sweet one with just a part of the hands showing - a gentleness there with the lighting that matches your writing. How wonderful that you have found each other.
@milaniet Thank you so much! When I look at his hands, I see his selflessness. He gives so much of himself. He never quits giving. He truly is a good, amazing man; and I am beyond thankful to be on this journey with him. We both love Christmas, so decorating this weekend has been such fun!
Christmas lights, the love of your life... makes the heart glow with happiness, doesn't it! I like how the image is softly blurred all around his hands, putting the focus on the one you're thankful for. (I too met my husband young; 14. Best friends until 21 and then married my best friend.)
Great capture, this scene will be reflected in millions of homes across the world over the next few weekends as we transform our homes ready to celebrate the biggest festival in the world. Lovely commentary as usual.
@lyndemc Yes, it does make the heart glow with happiness! Wow...you and your husband meeting at the age of 14 and still being happily together is a wonderful accomplishment. That old saying...happiness is being married to your best friend...sure is true. We are both very blessed in that regard. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment.
