La Flor De La Noche Buena

The flower of the Holy Night. We call this vibrant, red flower a Poinsettia; but I do love the Spanish name with its poetic translation of roll-off-the-tongue, rhythmic words. Around here, it’s also known as a must-have during the Christmas season. My Mother loved them. And I do, too. A sea of these beloved blooms arrived today, and their loud red glows Christmas and time-honored tradition!
So beautiful!

That Spanish name is really beautiful - I, too, like the poinsettias - got our first today. We usually buy 4 or 5 to have around the house during the Christmas season. There's something about that lovely red that just adds so to Christmas. Although they now come in several colors, red is definitely my favorite. Nice shot of them all together.

@milaniet Thanks so much, Milanie! The red is my favorite color, too. We get two dozen every year.; and this year, we got two different varieties of red. 15 of them go on the steps of our front staircase, and the others get sprinkled around the house. I love the vibrant splashes of color, and they remind me of my Mom.
