Snow crunched under my feet as I made my way further and further toward the glass trees. Not here at home. About 3 miles away on the crest of a hill. I had to pull off the road to take in this rare beauty. Sparkling like fine crystal, ice-coated branches reached defiant toward today’s bright sunshine. Only on the crest did the trees dazzle. Elsewhere, chocolatey brown branches stretched stark.
Thank you so much for your kind comments on my sweet Marley yesterday. He is such a loving, little dog; and I truly appreciate your support! I recently read an article about "shooting for the light" in which the author suggested waiting for a subject to enter a pretty patch of sunlight. When I saw Marley sit down in the light, I remembered the article, grabbed my camera, and snapped. Thanks to Clare @pistache for sharing the link to the article. Here it is for anyone interested: http://digital-photography-school.com/shoot-for-the-light-improve-your-composition/
I guess the importance - and fun - of lighting is the biggest thing I've learned here on 365 these past 2 years (first two were just survival - me and the camera!) Notice it even without the camera (well, that hardly ever happens) but when looking at other shots, it's the first thing I'm drawn to. This is just lovely - can see this real easily.
@juleshoogstraanderson Thank you so much, Jules, for your generous comment and for the fav and follow! So very kind of you! I really appreciate your time and your support! :-)
