In the mountains I go into another sphere. As the houses in the valley get smaller during the ascent, so the worries get less. Sometime the last noise of a vehicle silences, the last hut is behind me and with it any unrest. Sometime only rock and peaceful quiet. A gentle wind makes the grasses softly nod, he tenderly caresses my cheek. Fondly the mountain embraces me. He welcomes anyone who entrusts himself to him.
At the summit... this marvelous wideness.... above only sky... The heart is lighter, breathing freed. No yesterday, no tomorrow. Just the here and now.
You have to stop and soak in the words you've written as well as the wonderful picture you posted - the pairing is wonderful. Love the many layers of solitude and subtle colors. Fav
I would like to communicate with words. Of course, it is in this forum about images. But I think that verbal communication is important to explain something, to point at something and to learn. But you know that English is not my mother tongue. I'm afraid my texts are laborious constructions. I have therefore inhibitions to explain myself linguistically and to take part in conversations. I can just hope that the meaning of my texts is not grossly disfigured with my translations.
I'm glad when I am pointed out to mistakes (sentence structure, vocabulary use, style ...). So I could improve a bit.
What a stunning image and accompanying words. You convey your ideas excellently with both and whilst the sentence construction and choice of words you use sometimes requires a little extra thought, to be sure of what you mean, the message is always there and most thoughtful. I didnt spot the person sat contemplating when I saw this image on my phone last night. Now I see an even better image that matches your words, than I did then. I so love the hint of the layers of mountains going into the distance.

I am very glad if the image is appealing. I was not quite sure if I did it right. It is always a task to find the right words - for a picture or a text.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your kind comment!
My words... wished my English would be better. Language lives from the subtle tones. Basically, the writing and making of images are the same operation - expressing oneself with the respective options of a medium. I know that I still have a lot to learn.
Absolutely superb. Immediately I loved the vastness felt in this photo. But then your words are just amazing (and your English is much better than you think, and much better than most English speakers!).
@summerfield
No, that is not a selfie. :)
This young man in the photo I do not know. I saw him sitting there - I liked it very much and took a photo. He stayed there about half an hour. Then I sat down there on this wonderful place.
Thank you for your nice comment!
In a certain sense, it is therefore a selfie...

Caroline, you are so nice! I wished my English would be better. I would be very happy to talk to you - more elegant, finer in nuances.
