Beautiful reflections. I love seeing your work in Upper Austria as I'll be moving there in 2 weeks! :-) Makes me impatient to see all these amazing sights.
I can well remember the coldness of the water, thinking why am I doing this, but then you feel so good afterwards, your skin tingles for quite a while.
Terrific photo as well !!!
Lovely colours and reflections. I do feel either there should be more sky and mountain tops or that you crop them away, either leaving a bit of the lower ground or just revealing the reflection. At the moment it doesn't work well compositionally speaking. I hope you don't mind the critique?

Louise - You'll travel in two weeks to Austria? How nice! Which places you visit? How long are you going to stay in Austria?
Where do you live?
@jerome My husband and I will be working in Vorchdorf (permanent contract), so will be looking for a flat in or around Gmunden. We have 2 weeks holiday first in Altmunster - can't wait ;-)

Thanks for your comment!
I see that you are with your husband in Bahrain. You write that you move to Vorchdorf. I can't imagine that someone from Bahrain wants to this secluded Vorchdorf. Altmünster however is nice - on the lake Traunsee. There it is quite pretty. The mountains you have almost on the doorstep. The mountain Traunstein at Traunsee offers nice tours on different routes. And the glaciated peaks of the Alps are not far off.
What kind of work do you do?
The cloud reflections are stunning. I cant imagine there was a crowd swimming in the water with you! Must have been a magical experience to be swimming, surrounded by such beauty.

I agree with your thoughts. I fear that such peaceful place one day be destroyed. Unfortunately, there are examples of this. But they still exist, the tranquil, unspoilt places in the mountains. And I am delighted that I can share with you.

You are right, very few people were on this lake. I had it almost to myself.
Yes, it is a wonderful gift, if I can be in this environment in the lake. For me, nature is full of wonders.

@jerome Hi Jerome, Yes at the moment my husband & I are in Bahrain, we are both English teachers and we will be starting a new job in Vorchdorf. I think we will try to look for an apartment in Gmunden though. I can't wait to see blues and greens again after lots of beige! :-)
Gmunden ist a very nice town - and the lake Traunsee! The Traunsee and the entire Salzkammergut is a very beautiful place. Many people come to spend their holidays here. There is something special when you live there.
Very much green you'll see anyway in Austria :).
Four years ago I traveled through Oman. The "lots of beige" impressed me very much. But I admit, the lush green of meadows and forests at home I liked then again. In Gmunden you will see lots of greens and blues. :)
I would like to know your impressions in Austria. Wish you all the best, dear Louise!

Yes, the water was cold, but it jolly stimulates the blood circulation. :)
