Love it, gotta love the Kimberley. If I remember correctly, termite mounds are all build the same direction, east-west I think, to minimise the afternoon heat.

You could continue this image to the left and right long, long. There were really many, many termite mounds that spread over the savannah.

@golftragic Yes, you are right - the termite mounds are aligned to the sun. But I think aligned to N-S (the narrow side exposed to the midday sun).
