From this point on the border of Austria you have a wide view over the Bohemian Forest to Germany and the Czech Republic. In the foreground are mountain pines, behind them is the forest stand, which actually only consists of dead trees.
those dead trees go back a long way across the landscape. What an amazingly clear day when you took this. It is a scene with very strong compositional elements.
Yes, it's a strange feeling to walk through a forest where all the trees are dead. You go through nothing but tree corpses. Some broken off in the middle, sometimes only stumps with splintered ends. Grotesque figures... Skeletons... A cemetery... Opressive ... Spooky...
And yet - I am embraced by this weird aesthetics. And there is a living spirit in all these dead... And trees are growing again... and everything has its deeper meaning, is subsumed in a larger whole...
@alijchapman Yes, it's a special feeling. But I am now so far that I can experience this sight as something beautiful.
