Oh, this could be one of mine. ;-) I grabbed a couple too yesterday, to later take a picture of them. Love horse chestnuts. A really magical givt of nature, that fits perfectly in a hand. Great light, coposition and reflection.
@mona65 Now is chestnut time, yes. Sometimes you want to stop time, like today. I hope your ginkgos are fine... Schicke dir liebe Grüße von Osten...
Thank you for your dear visit! I'm very glad about that.
How lovely that you took the time to gather these wonderful specimens and display them. I do so love the satisfying shapes, and the smooth round shiny conkers that emerge - each different and each perfect.
Very beautiful Jerome. We say that if you keep one of them in your pocket all winter long it will protect you from getting a cold. We all need some magic and horse chestnuts look as perfect charms
@caterina This is an enchanting saying about the chestnuts. Yes, you are right: we need pictures, something tactile and tangible for our world of ideas.
@golftragic Marnie, I did not roast them. The chestnuts in the picture are horse chestnuts. They are unfit for human consumption. You can only eat the sweet chestnuts.
@golftragic Yes, it is good to emphasize this in good time: that we are all human - with all the contradictoriness and limitedness.
Warm regards to you.
