I was walking across a railroad bridge trying not to trip in the holes between the ties when I saw this lovely view. It looked like a whole other world to me.
Ok I've got it- your challenge is to shoot something in monochrome- using textures & light for contrast rather than colours. Actually I could do with this challenge myself! I just spent part of the morning with an artist friend who does this so well- I have always appreciated her light touch and use of shape. Here is a link for a view of where my mind is as I write. So it's not that she's an artist model for you, more just one version of monochrome in some works. http://www.nadenemilnegallery.com/art/artists/ElizabethThomson
@carolinedreams Sounds like fun. Hopefully the torrential rain and fierce wind will decrease enough to pull it off outside. Unfortunately I can't open your link with my iPad. Hopefully I will have my new computer by Wednesday night so I can see it.
lol i thought these were flying fish untill i realized that they were sticks sticking out of the water!! Very interesting POV! love the colors and capture! ..i dont understand the difference between monchrone and black and white how do you shoot in monochrome?
this does really weird things to my eyes, my brain isn't connecting properly. looks like a cool painting but it looks 2D. I know it's just me Jane, maybe I can only see in 2D today....lol. Very very cool!!
@ellimae@danig the railroad ties are parallel to the ground. We are walking on them...they look monochrome cause of light and wet boards and the green is moss and lichen growing on the vertical rock structure below the tracks. Oh and the little stick like things are pine needles on the railroad ties
@jgpittenger Ok- the link doesn't really matter it was just an example of close-to-monochrome using a light touch. Her name is Elizabeth Thomson if you want to google but no pressure at all.
