I needed some brightening up yesterday after my daughter and her family left to return to the other side of the country and Jim came down HARD with the virus my daughter's husband had while they were here. So I went out to a neighbors driveway where I had seen these gaudy nasturtiums dancing in the sun.
Thanks as always for your unfailing support and encouragement and suggestions. I would love some of the latter on this shot. To my eye it doesn't quite work but Im not sure other than shooting at a better time of day for the light what I could have done different. too busy, I think. But I couldn't seem to get an angle or aperture opening that would focus the eye on just one or a few flowers and have them nicely focused with everything else bokehing out
Oh no!! I was just wondering how you'd managed to avoid the spread of lurgy! I love the atmosphere in this. I might have tried cropping off the LHS just before the big nasturtium in the foreground (while trying not to lose too much of that nice frondy bit).
Lovely to see nasturtiums again, sort of out of fashion here but always so bright & colourful...think they would rather put them in salads now...sigh of the times!!
First of all, I hope Jim recovers quickly and you stay healthy. I agree this has gorgeous color but tends to be a bit busy. I can't think of a thing other than to get a bit closer.
I love nasturtiums, beautiful colors here, so I do hope you take more photos of them @happypat so true, one of my childhood memories, seems like everyone used to grow them
