Looking Into the Fires of Hell

The helicopter pilot made a point of taking us over the volcano so we could see the hot lava. Wow! Amazing experience. I am enjoying going back through these pictures and remembering the trip.

This is so effective -- we can see the fires inside the opening so clearly, and the smoke coming out shows just how active/hot the area is.
