I'm off to two long days so I'm posting early. These birds are so awesome...if one of the pair is killed or disappears while there ae babies to tend, another falon often will come in to help the remaining parent. Last year, there were two males who did most of the raising of the 4 chicks. This shot is from this year before any chicks while the male and female are still working out their relationship. I have to travel an hour to watch the yearly nesting but boy is it worth it.

This is pretty exciting to read about -- I remember last year's family and the guy birds having to take over. I like the sharpness of its eyes and its glare. And the little light spot in each eye. Well done!
