Okay, what's the initial thing Etsooi. I have wanted to learn bracketing and also have been interested in tone mapping. So I am playing. Took this on my way to work leaning on the car for balance setting the camera for bracketing. Then I found a tutorial called Layer HDR Tone Mapping. But my picture was still a little dull having been tacking in a very low, dull light situation. So I ran some actions from my new class-levels, warmer, contrast, cooling then separate out the sky on a separate layer and adjusted the hue, but the trees on a separate layer and did a blend mood. Then merged everything. Then took it into Lightroom for a few more tweaks. Is it a great photo--no. Was my separating of the trees and sky perfect no. Did I improve the photo- definitely. Did I learn something - oh yes. So I invite your thoughts and thank you for your wonderful comments on my fall waters.
Playing and learning is so fun, did my first bracketing yesterday on one that I didn't post but was cool to see the difference it made. Want to try it again soon.
Congrats on a successful experiment!! The colors, etc have no dullness at all so totally successful on that front. Sort of a forced perspective where the bush of orange leaves looks huge compared to the tree. All in all, a good experiment!
@taffy Not my favorite look at fall. Just limited time that day and this was just experimenting. Unfortunately no more pictures I took came out at all. Knew something seemed off. Love when you describe like this because next time I have words for it. Not a lot of color and I thought cutting the taller tree off would look weird too but maybe not.
