Waiting for summer visitors. by joansmor

Waiting for summer visitors.

I am thinking of doing a collage of winter benches. I have them sitting there lonely with a dusting of snow, several inches of snow, buried in snow and sitting lonely surrounded by snow. I have to get up tomorrow and dig a path for the oil man. Temps likely in single digits, and get it done fast because another blizzard coming. Another foot or more. Where will we put it. Why didn't I retire this year. Oh well we have a three day weekend. Take you loved one in your arms this weekend and realize how lucky you are.
This really is lovely, hope the forecast is wrong.

Nicely composed - I would love to see a bench collage! Stay warm and safe!

What no takers for that bench??

Isn't it amazing that scene as beautiful and calm as this will be "blizzardy" in 24 hours?

This is really beautiful Joan and it would be great to do a collage of winter benches, go for it :-)

My Lunenburg neighbour sent me a photo of the park bench, covered high above the seat in snow! What a different look from the grassy-green summer days we experience there! Good luck in the coming snow storm! Sounds like it's headed right up the coast!

Great capture

Wonderful, a park bench in the snow. Just as well it wasn't snowing when Dave and I did our courting on such benches around Abbey Wood where he lived.

Love the big sky contrast against the white snow!
A collage of winter benches would be cool! :)

I enjoy the open space surrounding the bench. It provides us with an idea of the experience of sitting there. Your benches project sounds wonderful!

@ceilidh Oh but can make for the perfect excuse to cuddle close.

Lovely winter scene.

I love the brightness of your recent pictures. You're really showing the cold, which I can see lies heavily on your spirit. The good thing is that you all have warm places inside too.

Great colors! Look so lonely!

@janiskay Thanks because that is just what I meant to convey.

Not keen on collages but a bench series sounds a great idea Joan - Bench of the Week or Bench of the Month... what say you? (I told you that you should have retired this Winter!)
February 14th, 2015
@vignouse Actually haven't done a scrap page in a long time so I've decided to go that route.
February 14th, 2015
WOW..that says it all doesn't it? Beautiful though...that sky is wonderful. Hugs to you Joan!!
February 15th, 2015
That's beautiful! Love that lone bench Joan.

Great winter shot. Can't get over all that snow

I like the lonely bench on frame. It reinforces the concept of wait...

I like your benches idea, and retirement sounds lovely as well. Although I have 2 daughters that claim they are going to get advanced degrees and big weddings so I'll have to wait a bit. I haven't decided about the bike stands, collage or series. Maybe a series....when it's warmer... This is a lovely, lonely photo.
